Function meets comfort

GH21 is a good example of how the site determines house design and site layout. This site is tricky due to the orientation, slope, soil type, bushfire assessment and council stormwater requirements. All these issues have been addressed in a concise and cohesive design solution.

The family are enjoying all the benefits of living in a sustainable house. Whilst solar access is compromised due to the site conditions, there is still plenty of winter sun finding its way into the home. Winter thermal comfort is guaranteed with hydronic underfloor heating and natural cross and stack ventilation and ceiling fans will take care of any cooling required in summer. The wastewater system is providing irrigation to the whole block and the whole house is fed only by rain water.
